Privacy policy

The protection of your privacy and your personal data when using our websites is very important to us. For your protection, we strictly observe the provisions of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and other data protection laws. In the following, we explain which personal data we collect during your visit to our website and how we use this information.
Our employees are obligated to maintain data secrecy in accordance with § 5 BDSG and are informed about the topic of data protection when they begin their work.

Personal data
Personal data are – according to § 3 para. 1 Federal Data Protection Act – individual details about personal or factual circumstances of a specific or identifiable natural person (e.g. your name, address and telephone number).

Collection and processing of personal data.
When you visit our pages, we temporarily store the connection data of the requesting computer, the web pages you visit on our site, the date and the duration of your visit to our web pages as standard for the purpose of system security. We also save the identification data of the browser and operating system type used as well as the website from which you visit us. This data is stored anonymously so that you cannot be personally identified as a visitor to our website. Further personal data, such as your name, address or telephone number, is not collected unless you provide this information voluntarily, e.g. as part of a registration, for the performance of a contract or for other enquiries.

Use and disclosure of personal data.
We use the data provided by you exclusively for the purpose of administering the websites and for completing your order, such as processing our contract or answering an enquiry.
We will only use the data for marketing purposes of our company if you have given us your consent beforehand or if you have not objected – as far as this is provided for by legal regulations.
Your personal data will not be passed on, sold or otherwise transferred to third parties unless this is necessary for the purpose of processing the contract or you have given your express consent. In these cases, we forward the data in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Data Protection Act.

Cookies
So-called “cookies” are small files that enable us to store specific information related to you on your computer while you are visiting our website. Cookies help us to determine the frequency of use and the number of users of our website and to make our offers as convenient and efficient as possible for you.
We use so-called “session cookies”, which are only temporarily stored for the duration of your use of one of our Internet pages.
It is also possible to use our offers without cookies. You can deactivate the storage of cookies in your browser, limit it to certain web pages or set your browser to notify you as soon as a cookie is sent. Please note, however, that in this case you must expect a restricted display of the page and restricted user guidance. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses.

Facebook
We do not use any so-called social plugins (“plugins”) of the social network Facebook of Facebook Inc., 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA on our websites. Therefore, no active code from Facebook is executed on our pages.
You will only find a simple link to our Facebook page on our web pages. We expressly point out that we have no knowledge of the content and scope of the data stored by Facebook and therefore refer to the currently valid data protection declaration of Facebook at: www.facebook.com/policy.php.

Youtube
Youtube is a trademark of Google Inc (“Google”) 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
We integrate Youtube videos on our site. These Youtube videos are embedded via www.youtube-nocookie.com/-Option (“extended data protection mode”). As long as you do not call up the video, no cookies are set. However, data is still stored in the “local storage” of the web browser beyond the respective session. Among them is a so-called device ID, the function of which is unclear. Calling up our pages thus leads to a connection being established with Youtube and the Double Click network.
When the video is called up, a connection to Youtube servers is established. This triggers further data protection processing. We have no influence on this. For further information on data protection and the processing of your data by Youtube, please visit: www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/

Piwik
We use Piwik, a web analytics service, on our websites. In order to enable an analysis of the use of the website, Piwik uses so-called cookies, which are stored on your computer. In the process, the information about the use, including your shortened IP address, is transferred to our server and stored here for analysis. We use the information to optimise the website. Your IP address is only used anonymously. You remain anonymous as a user. We also do not pass on any data to third parties. Nevertheless, you can already prevent corresponding cookies from being installed by making settings in your browser.

Newsletter
Frequency and content: The newsletter is sent out approximately monthly, depending on our topics. In it we inform you about the latest news from our association as well as our upcoming events.
Double-Opt-In and Opt-Out: You will receive a so-called double-opt-in email in which you will be asked to confirm your registration. You can object to receiving the newsletter at any time (so-called opt-out). You will find an unsubscribe link in every newsletter or double opt-in e-mail.
Statistics: When sending our newsletter, we use the software of a dispatch service provider. If you subscribe to the newsletter, you consent to the evaluation carried out by this service provider, which allows us to see, for example, how often the newsletter is opened and which links the readers click on.

Security
We take all necessary technical and organisational measures (TOMs) within the meaning of the Annex to Section 9 Sentence 1 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz) to protect your personal data from loss and misuse. For example, your data is stored in a secure operating environment that is not accessible to the public. Should you wish to contact us by e-mail, we would like to point out that the confidentiality of the information transmitted is not guaranteed. The content of e-mails can be viewed by third parties. We therefore recommend that you send us confidential information in encrypted form or by post.

Information
Upon written request, we will inform you of the personal data we have stored about you. You can have your data stored with us blocked, deleted or corrected at any time, provided that we are obliged to retain it for a limited period for administrative reasons. Data that is subject to a retention obligation on our part was collected exclusively in the context of an active registration or booking with us. For information, correction, blocking or deletion of data as well as revocation of given consents, please use our contact details in the imprint.
We reserve the right to adapt this data protection declaration at any time and in compliance with changing legal provisions. The current version can always be found on our website under the menu item Privacy Policy. This data protection declaration applies exclusively to our websites and not to third-party websites to which links are provided.
